About the Big Shaq
Shaquille O Neal was born on March 6, 1972. He is a 7 1″, 325 pound center who played for six teams over his 19-year career in the NBA Shaquille O Neal established The Shaquille O Neal Foundation in 2019 to provide resources and opportunities for underserved youth, particularly in Atlanta and Las Vegas. While the foundation was formalized then, Shaq has been heavily involved in philanthropy, including the Shaq-a-Claus program, since at least 1997. Shaq-a-Claus is an annual holiday charity initiative started by Shaquille O Neal and his mother, Dr. Lucille O Neal, in 1995 to provide toys, clothes, and computers to underserved children.
